Circles:

I have studied the paintings of many masters - Van Gogh, Monet, and Matisse—countless times. Though they lived decades or even over a century ago, their works continue to resonate as timeless masterpieces. Great art, once created, does not fade; it endures. It becomes part of an ongoing cultural dialogue, never reduced to dust.

Inspired by this observation, I created a series titled Circles. This body of work honors the enduring legacy of the masters. Through it, I seek to illustrate how classical works continue to circulate through time, their meanings remaining vibrant and relevant. I borrow the brushstrokes of Matisse and draw upon the color palettes of Matisse, Van Gogh, and Monet. By incorporating carved dashes that echo these influences, I create a sense of circularity - of time looping back upon itself, carrying art forward.

These ideas are realized through ceramic, a material chosen for its strength and durability. Once fired, ceramic becomes almost eternal, echoing the lasting impact of great artworks. I hope that my work, like the pieces that inspired it, will stand the test of time and become part of the enduring circle of art.
