Leaf jar:

Last summer, I found myself returning to the studio nearly every afternoon. The walk from the parking lot became a small but meaningful part of my daily rhythm. I began to notice the subtle shifts in light, the warmth of the air, and especially the way the leaves danced and swirled gently in the summer wind. That moment, watching leaves move effortlessly across the pavement, evoked a deep sense of ease, freedom, and presence. It was such a simple scene, but it captured the essence of summer for me: light, movement, and stillness coexisting.

I created this jar as a way to preserve that fleeting experience, to give form to an atmosphere that cannot be held. Through clay, I aimed to express the softness of the breeze and the delicate rhythm of the natural world. The leaves impressed on the surface are not just decoration, they are a record of sensation, memory, and emotion. This piece became a meditation on the power of the ordinary, and the ways art can transform a passing moment into something lasting.

Even now, when I look at the jar, I am transported back to that summer, to the warmth, the quiet joy, and the feeling of being completely present in my surroundings. It is a reminder of how art allows us to revisit and reimagine the beauty found in everyday life.
