The Rain Danced
This hand-carved porcelain plate captures the quiet, meditative rhythm of rain as it touches the earth. Inspired by ephemeral natural phenomena, I carved the surface intuitively to suggest the movement of raindrops rippling across water, organic forms in constant motion. Layered glazes flow through these carved lines, creating a sense of depth, fluidity, and stillness.
Porcelain allows me to express a delicate balance between fragility and permanence. In The Rain Danced, I try to evoke the image of rain, and the feeling of being within it, immersed in its quiet choreography. I hope this work invites moments of pause and reflection, offering a sense of calm in a world that often rushes past the beauty found in the everyday.
